Project Description

The turbinates role is to warm and humidify air that is breathed through the nose. They become enlarged in conditions such as hay fever causing blockage.
Soft tissue of enlarged turbinates causing nasal obstruction are reduced using a debrider or coblation. Bone is also removed.

Turbinectomy Recovery

Haemostatic gel is placed (mesh like to reduce bleeding) on the wound. Once soft tissue and bone are removed there is a remarkable increase in the nasal air flow as the turbinates are no longer blocking the nose.

The vast majority of patients are extremely satisfied with this procedure.
